On the sacred occasion of Guru Purnima, St. Lawrence Sr. Sec. School hosted a solemn and evocative programme to honour the venerable architects of wisdom — our teachers. The celebration was a heartfelt homage, expressing profound gratitude and reverence towards the gurus who illuminate minds, shape character, and nurture the potential of every learner.
The event commenced with the melodious chanting of mantras, creating an atmosphere of serenity and spiritual elevation. This was followed by an eloquent poem recitation and thoughtful student speeches, each highlighting the enduring significance of the guru–shishya parampara in the fabric of Indian culture.
The cultural segment captivated the audience with a graceful dance presentation by our younger students, radiating innocence and enthusiasm. The highlight of the celebration was a powerful dance drama by the senior students, based on the legendary story of Eklavya and his guru Dronacharya, portraying the complex dimensions of dedication, sacrifice, and the profound influence of a guru. The performance seamlessly wove together classical tradition with contemporary relevance, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
The event stood as a poignant reminder of the transformative role educators play in the journey of life and learning. A deep sense of admiration and gratitude reverberated through the campus.
